Suscribe to Our RSS Feed

If you would like to be notified when this Web site has been updated, please subscribe to our RSS feed.

A RSS feed is a means of informing you that a Web site has new content through simple notification, summaries, or full-posts without you having to visit the site.

You'll Need a Feedreader

To subscribe to our RSS feed you need an application called a feed or news reader, and it has to support the RSS 1.0 format. Feed readers, also called aggregators, are available either as extensions on your browser or as desktop applications.

Browser Add-on or Web-based Feedreaders

If you want to use a browser add-on or Web-based feedreader, you can probably access it through your browser. For Internet Explorer there are plug-ins such as Pluck; Opera has a newsreader that is part of its email service. In Mozilla Firefox click on Tools and then Extensions where you can find about 20 different free online readers. I use the Firefox extension Sage: it's small, has one-step subscription, and support for 20 locales or languages.

Desktop Applications

Some well-known desktop feedreaders that are free for download and support the RSS 1.0 format are RSSOwl, which runs on Windows, OS X, and Linux operating systems; Liferea for Linux; Shrook NetNewsWire Lite for OS X; and Feedreader for Windows 95 and up; many others are available. The only one I can vouch for personally is Liferea; I installed it without any problem, but never use it because Sage is, to my taste, so much nicer.

Follow Its Instructions to Subscribe to a Feed

Once you have your feedreader, follow its instructions to subscribe to a RSS feed. Generally, this is as easy as opening the Web site, clicking on a discover or subscribe button in your newsreader (in Sage, a magnifying glass), and then selecting, in a window the newsreader opens, the feed that you wish to subscribe to. Or, like in Liferea, you may have to type in the URI of the feed in the newsreader's window. To find the URI, just mouse over the RSS link; your browser will display the URI at the bottom of your viewport.
